Agyeman tipped for Doctor Who role
Crossroads veteran Freema Agyeman is tipped to take over from Billie Piper as Doctor Who's new assistant. However, ex-EastEnder Michelle Ryan is also in with a chance of playing new character, Adeola.
Producers liked what they saw, and she returned as Shakira Washington this year.
Whoever lands the much-coveted job will join a long list of soap stars who have starred in the hit show.
Frazer Hines appeared from 1966 to 1969, a few years before starring in Corrie and Emmerdale.
EastEnders' Leslie Grantham appeared in Resurrection of the Daleks in 1984.
Noel Clarke (Mickey) previously featured in The Bill, Doctors and Holby City.
Recently, Casualty veteran Will Thorp played a possessed archaeologist in the two-part adventure, The Impossible Planet and The Satan Pit.
My opinions: I don't know Freema Agyeman at all, but I think I'd prefer her over Michelle Ryan - who I tend to find a bit wooden as an actress at times. (She was Zoe in Eastenders for those who aren't sure).
